After the 6 rounds and 12 races in 20167AFR Series, Charles accumulated 245 points with 4 champions and 9 podiums in total. Although this is just the first year for Charles to start off his career season in Asia, he maintained a very high standard in battling with the other opponents throughout the series, at an age of only 15 years old. He also helped the team to win driver and team overall champion in the other formula series at the same time. At such young age with this astonishing result, he is having boundless prospects in motorsport for sure.
“2017 has been a good year for me.” Charles expressed. “I really want to thank the team at BlackArts Racing for all their support this season. Thank you to the BAR partners, the office staff, the great coaches and my hard-working mechanics. I also want to thank my mum and dad for their support over the years. It hasn’t been easy to get the funding to get to every event this year but we managed to do it and I’m very grateful for this. I also want to thank FRD, the race officials and the other drivers for putting a really great championship together. If it wasn’t for all these people then I would not have achieved the great results this year. Next year I am hoping to race in Formula Renault in Europe and look forward to representing BAR, FRD and Chinese motorsport to the rest of the world.”
