Clio Cup China Series will kick off its 2013 season in Shanghai Tianma Circuit on June 7-9. This season, for the first time to be act as support race of CTCC, will bring even more actions to our fans and spectators.
Shanghai Tianma Circuit will act as the first round of Clio Cup China Series 2013. The Series will then move to Chengdu for 2 races in July and August respectively, before moving to the Guangdong Province for the last 2 races in Zhaoqing and Zhuhai late in the year.
Several experienced drivers will attend for this first race meeting, including last year’s runner up driver Byron Tong. He and fellow Hong Kong driver Kenneth Ma will battle it out on track again. Racing veteran Kenneth Ma will again lead his FRD Racing Team for this year’s championship.
Chinese drivers will make up most of the field, including Yang Xu, who has just returned from a Clio race in the Nurburgring. He, Hunag Yi and Ye Xingping will be gunning for a victory. Joining them in FRD garage, racing all-rounder Tommy Chan from Hong Kong will also take part in this weekend’s race.
SRT Team will also join the race with Chinese Zhou Xuan Yu and Shi Jie. They also invited a guest driver, Massimilaino Wiser from Italy, to compete in this race as VIP driver. Wiser raced in numerous GT races and is now a driving coach. He certainly will sparkle the races.
The qualifying of the first and second races will take place on Saturday while the main races will be on Sunday.
