For more than a decade Formula Racing Development Ltd. (FRD), has been a pioneering force in promoting & developing

 Motor Sports in Asia. Founded in 1997 by Kenneth Ma, a professional driver himself, he brings hands on experience and 

vision in pushing competitive racing to a new level of professionalism in the Asian region. Recently FRD is involving in many 

racing series around Asia and International events.

To foster this, FRD provides premiere training facilities for new drivers. With veteran instructors from Asia and Europe, 

students are tested and forged on F.I.A. (FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE DE L'AUTOMOBILE) standard race circuits.

 From entry level instruction for the new student hoping to one day compete professional on track challenge, services

 are provided for all who are interested upon their preference. 

FRD organizes and promotes professional level competitive racing in Asia. Featuring a junior Formula series called Ford 

Formula Campus, FRD joins forces with Changan FORD automaker, allowing young gun drivers to test their mettle 

against each other. After which FRD, partnering with leading French automaker Renault and their Sports Technologies 

Division, became the official Asian promoter of the Formula Renault 2.0 series in 2000, named as Asian Formula Renault.

 In the 2009 season, following the success of FRD and Renault Formula racing, the Renault Clio Cup China Series was 

also successfully introduced with outstanding success. By 2015, new models of Clio MK4 and Formula Renault were 

introduced to the series and enhanced the level and the quality of the race. In the upcoming 2016 season, FRD 

planned to run the events in some brand new circuits, so as to attract more drivers who would like to have more 

experience.

In addition FRD organized GT (Grand Turismo) class racing, featuring powerful touring supercars, with names such as Ferrari 

and Aston Martin. Jointly organized by FRD and Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC), this Series is considered one of Asia's most

 prominent Supercar races. Attracting drivers from around the world, including HK, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, USA, Canada, 

Japan, the UK and Italy, they compete on highly demanding tracks in China and greater Asia. 

To share in their success and give back to the people and fans, FRD focuses with a philanthropic spirit by organizing events 

such as their Celebrity Charity Race. Working with personalities like Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Aaron Kwok they bring much 

needed support and attention to disaster areas and humanitarian causes. Having previously raised approximately 

400,000,000 RMB on a single event! 

In 2006, teaming up with Changan Ford, FRD established the “Changan Ford Racing Team”. Comprised of members from

 Changan Ford, FRD is the first company team to compete in the China Touring Car Championship (CTCC) race, 

considered the top touring car racing event in China. Competing in specially modified Ford FOCUS cars, they established 

a winning record with championship titles, becoming a leading competitor and a team to be respected. Until 2015 season,

 drivers had won 8 Championships among 10 seasons, Changan Ford Racing Team had been known as one of the best

 racing team in the China Car Racing history.

In 2015, TCR Asia Series was introduced. As the pioneer force of motorsports in Hong Kong, FRD joined the series from the 

beginning of the season. Using the latest specifications Ford Focus, the overall performance was standing in the top tier, had 

been treated as one of the strongest rivals in the race.

Headquartered in Hong Kong S.A.R., with offices in Shanghai and Zhuhai China, they are supported with a professional 

crew of over 80 technicians, instructors and managers from Europe and North America. FRD manages over 100 different 

racing vehicles in the Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC) and the Shanghai International Circuit (SIC).
